Training
Philosophy

Wild Wags opened in May of 2023 and offers behavior modification, obedience training, and puppy training.

Our focus is balanced reward-based dog training and behavior modification.

No alpha dog training here - It is outdated and proven to negatively impact the human-animal bond. We follow the four quadrants of training with a heavy focus on positive reinforcement and negative punishment. Not sure what the four quadrants of training are? Read below

Positive reinforcement: Your puppy goes potty outdoors and is rewarded with verbal praise.

Negative reinforcement: Your dog is fearful of another dog and reacts with lunging and barking. The other dog stays nearby until your dog is quiet, non aggressive, and checks in with the handler.

Negative punishment: Your dog is asked to do a command, your dog ignores the command and walks away and so no treats are given to your dog.

Positive punishment: Your dog pulls on the leash, so the handler makes a quick tug on the leash to break leash pressure.
